Sahaja Yoga Meditation

Is Inner Peace that elusive? not really...

“We are thinking all the time about the future and the past.  One thought rises, falls off, another thought rises, falls off.  So we are jumping on the cusp of future and past. But in between those thoughts there’s a little space that is the present.  The past is finished and the future doesn’t exist. So what exists really? Reality is present. So when you stand in the present, you become thoughtlessly aware.  And this state is the first state you achieve, and this is the state where you become absolutely peaceful within yourself. The peace is so great that you enjoy your peaceful existence.  Not only that, but you become the source of peace. Wherever you go, you emit peace.” — Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

Balance between the Heart and the Brain

How many times do we juggle between various choices and priorities? Have we not faced the struggle between the heart and the brain — between the emotional and physical side.

Million dollar question is how do we achieve inner peace? For achieving inner peace we try to control or train our minds and oftentimes this is a failed proposition. Inner peace is achieved as a result of balance. Balance is a state where you accept reality as it is, and don’t fight to change or impose. And when this art of balance matures, we experience a state of maturity or Wisdom.

Mind as we experience is but a realm of thoughts interspersed with imagination from experiences of the past and aspiration of the future. We have to go beyond our mind, if we have to understand our true nature. Since times immemorial, every traditional institution wanted to help us live a life that seeks and perfects balance. And every system goes through changes in test of time.

So the answer to the paradox in Sahaja Yoga is  — we start with an ‘experience’ where we become ‘Thoughtlessly Aware’, which brings in an automatic process where there is a balance between the institutions of past and future, desire & action.
